Technology
“Imagination does not become great until human beings, given the courage and the strength, use it to create.”
Technology
The technology program at Tuskawilla Montessori recognizes the importance of computers in the daily life and future of our students success. Our vision for technological growth is centered around three core subject areas which include computers in the classroom and learning labs with Microsoft Office and Robotics.
Classroom computers are tools for our students to conduct research, build presentations and enhance academic achievement. We believe that our students gain valuable life skills through the acquisition and mastery of Word documents, PowerPoint presentations and Excel spreadsheets developed within the Microsoft Office 365 environment. These skills are introduced in the first grade and developed throughout the child’s elementary and middle school years.
In elementary school, students are introduced to robotics using block coding.
Upon entering middle school, students work on more advanced programing with Lego Mindstorm robots, which combine physics and coding to help students develop essential skills in creative and critical thinking, collaboration, and communication.
